Do we offer childcare subsidies and what is forest schooling?

Bush Magic is not a registered school. We offer Outdoor Education programs not covered under any early childhood learning framework and therefore we are NOT an early childhood organisation and we do not recieve government subsidies nor qualify for childcare rebates. Our programs are facilitated by qualified Teachers using a forest schooling pedagogy. If you wish to discuss your families needs and desires to attend our program during Term time, please get in touch with Simone or Katrina at bushmagicadventures@gmail.com and we are happy to discuss with you how we can best serve you and your childs desired outcomes xx

The program is operated by qualified teachers, school counsellors and outdoor education trained facilitators.

Our philosophy is on child led unstructured play in nature, where children can immerse themselves in all the beauty and adventure nature has to offer. Our role as facilitators is to create a safe environment for children to flow and work on their connection to nature, their relationship with themselves and others.

Activities include

Fires, cooking on open fires with flint and steel

Creek play and flora/fauna ID

Nature Craft

Shelter building

Use of tools such as axes, saws and knives

Mud kitchen

Sensory play

Gross motor skills

Team games

And much more!!

Where and When?

Our Bush Play Program is for toilet trained, independent 3-6yr olds

Tuesdays – Dapto (Don’s Farm at back of Avondale Rd)

Wed & Thursday – Mt Keira (Girl Guides Camp)

Can i stay with my child?

The Program is generally a drop off and runs from 930-230pm. If you wish to stay with your child, you are more than welcome to settle them in. We find that most children operate best when they are left with the educators. However, we will always assist in what is in the best interest of the child, and if thats with you being on the program then we will support that

Cost and Ratios

The term program is discounted at $105/day and priority is given to children enrolled in the Term Program.

Other options include a half term option and casual bookings, which are dependent on our Term Booking numbers and Student:Teacher ratio.

Our ratio is 5:1 maximum for our 3-6yr programs and 3:1 for NDIS bookings.

NDIS bookings are invoiced privately to your plan manager or to you directly if you are self managed. Please defer payment if you are covered under NDIS and email us the details of the plan to bushmagicadventures@gmail.com

Our ratio for NDIS children is higher and we have a full inclusion policy to send you to outline all the ways we provide extra support for your child. We therefore invoice you at the NDIS rate ($30/hr -$180/DAY) under Capacity Building Funding to ensure we give higher levels of support for your child. We also have 1:1 support workers who have been trained under therapy supervision and have thorough knowledge of forest schooling AND Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, cerebal paulsy, PDA profile and other disabilites. If your child needs 1:1 support and you have core funding, you can request this seperately via email.

Sibling discount

First child is full price. Each additional child is $950 (inc gst)

What happens if we are sick?

There are no refunds for sickness

You can however make up another session at another program at one of our other venues at any time during term only if there is space available

What about active and creative kids Vouchers?

Yes! We are an active and creative kids registered organisation. Please book in, pay the deposit and then email the voucher number and DOB to us at bushmagicadventures@gmail.com and I will deduct those vouchers from your final invoice
